New addition to my book shelf....But Caution!!!!
Ecoholic written by Adria Vasil who writes the now column.
Let me warn you in advanced-if you do NOT want to know the absolute truth and have your eyes opened to what amess we have made- do not read this book- well no i take this back... I demand you read this book lol.
Now having said that- I have been reading it on my way to work- I have only read two chapters and wow- I am in shock!!! chapter one- beauty products... Nice- basically all of them are made of oil and synethetics- so basically every morning we are slathering ourselfs with a chemical bath...
Chapter two- well lets say this gives a great insight on what we are wearing- Did you know it takes half a pound of chemicals to make one regular tshirt? ewww...
Now having said this- and not having read past being drenched in chemicals and wearing pounds of chemicals - I learned about some great companies as well... Did you know about lululemons new line called Oqoqo. Every item is atleast 75% natural, organic or sustainable... or preloved.ca - toronto based company that is taking old tshirts and vintage clothes and remaking them into designer clothes...
Anyways, the book goes through everything- from beauty- clothes- food-kids stuff- home-getting around- and even a chapter on bigger issues.
As I said I am not past the second chapter in this book- but I thought I would share cause i think it will be a great book for all of you "eco-holics" out there... it even has a David Suzuki's thumbs up and a little summary of what h e thinks of the book on the cover... so you know its good. lol (yes I love that guy)
